On 20 July, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Albinas Zananavičius is participating in the General Affairs Council (Article 50) in Brussels. The Council discussed issues dealing with Brexit and how the policy paper published by the UK government on 12 July 2018 could feed into the discussions. The EU's chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier briefed the ministers on the state of play in the Brexit negotiations and where the negotiations stand regarding the work to finalise the withdrawal agreement, including the backstop solution for the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland. M. Barnier also presented the recent Commission communication on preparedness.

On 16 July, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius attended the Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels. The meeting focused on the implementation of decisions taken at the Eastern Partnership summit in Brussels, as well as preparations for the Eastern Partnership Foreign Ministers' meeting to be held in Luxembourg this October.

On 4 July, Minister Linas Linkevičius met with the European Chief Negotiator for the United Kingdom Exiting the European Union, Michel Barnier, in Vilnius to discuss the main Lithuanian interests in Brexit negotiations – Lithuanian citizens residing, working and studying in the United Kingdom should retain their rights and social guarantees, and the principles unifying the EU should stay in place. Lithuanian priorities in future EU-UK relations were discussed too.

On 7 June, Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius welcomed the participants of the informal meeting of the Club of Venice uniting top-level public relations officials and communications experts of the European Union Member States and institutions, which started in Vilnius.

On 28 May, Linas Linkevičius, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, took part in a meeting of the European Union Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) in Brussels. The foreign ministers of the EU Member States discussed Iran, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Venezuela related matters, the situation in Gaza and a document to be designed as a substitute for the Cotonou Agreement.

On 17 April, the European Commission published the annual Enlargement package, as well as assessed progress on reforms in the Western Balkans and Turkey. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius highlighted the importance of the EU open door policy and welcomed progress made by South-eastern European countries.

"Our response to Russian provocations after the events in Salsbery remains united and coordinated, we all understand the need to strengthen the resilience of our countries in the face of modern threats. The role of the European External Action Service’s Eastern Strategic Communications Division (StratComm) is particularly important – we need to evaluate the work of this team and to constantly improve it," said Linkevičius in a discussion on relations with Russia, during which EU Foreign Ministers discussed prospects for the near future and further joint actions following the events in the city of Salisbury, the United Kingdom.

“It’s important to condemn the use of chemical weapons in Syria, but that is not enough. The targeted airstrikes on chemical weapons facilities of 14 April were necessary steps for encouraging the Syrian regime and its supporters to seek a political solution to the conflict,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius said at the Foreign Affairs Council on 16 April in Luxembourg.

On 19 March in Brussels, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius attended the Foreign Affairs Council meeting, which discussed Russia’s elections on Sunday, the development in England’s city of Salisbury, the future of Ukraine, as well as situations in Syria, Iran and on the Korean Peninsula.
