Lithuania's Honorary Consuls acquaint themselves with topical political and economic issues
On 1-3 July, the 7th Convention of Honorary Consuls of Lithuania was held at the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania. The event brought together Lithuania's Honorary Consuls from around the world, who met with the leaders of the country and acquainted acquaint themselves with relevant issues of Lithuanian politics and economy.
In the meetings with the President Dalia Grybauskaitė and the Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis, Lithuania's Honorary Consuls had the opportunity to discuss topical political and economic issues of Lithuania. The participants of the Convention congratulated the leaders of the country on Lithuania's centenary, wishing prosperity and freedom for future generations.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius discussed guidelines for diplomatic activities and challenges, thanked the Honorary Consuls for their tireless work to promote Lithuania's business, to propagate culture, and to provide consular assistance. The Minister of Finance of Lithuania Vilius Šapoka together with representatives discussed ambitious plans for Lithuania's future and called on the representatives of our country to spread the message around the globe.
Lithuania's Honorary Consuls also visited the Port of Klaipėda, Free Economic Zone, and had conversation with local entrepreneurs. At the invitation of the Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis, the participants of the Convention attended the Opening Concert of Lithuania's Centenary Song Celebration, and saw the premiere of the rock opera 'Eglė'.
The 7th Convention of Honorary Consuls of Lithuania was attended by 270 participants from 65 countries.
