On 17 December ambassador G.Varvuolis met with Belgium‘s minister of transport Ms. Jacqueline Galant. The meeting focused on recently adopted Belgian legislation which forbids truck drivers to have their regular weekly rest time on board of their vehicle.

Ambassador underlined that Belgian legislation eliminates driver‘s right to choose,  the existing infrastructure in Belgium creates difficulties in ensuring compliance with the determinant requirements

and may create barriers for free movement of goods and services.
