Ambassador thanked the Minister of Federal Government of Belgium Daniel Bacquelaine for his significant contribution to bilateral relations
On January 23 Ambassador Gediminas Varvuolis presented the letter of gratitude signed by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius to Minister of Federal Government of Belgium responsible for pension reforms Daniel Bacquelaine who was serving as Lithuanian Honorary Consul to Valonia for long period.
European commissioner delegated by Lithuania Vytenis Andriukaitis, the president of Royal Academy of medicine of Belgium Bernard Himpens, professors of Leuven Catholic university Peter Hellings and Ingeborg Stalmans were present at the ceremony.
Minister Daniel Bacquelaine has a degree on medical sciences, therefore the health care situation in Europe was the main subject of discussions. Belgium and Lithuanian experiences in this field were compared, the newest achievements in medical sciences were presented and perspectives of cooperation between health care institutions of Belgium and Lithuania were discussed.
