The government of Flanders is supporting a cooperation project between Kortrijk and Kaunas. A gift from Flanders to Kaunas, European Capital of Culture 2022 the K-TOTEM is a symbol of collaboration and friendship between Kaunas and Kortrijk, two UNESCO Creative Cities of Design.

K-TOTEM is 3.5 meter high sculpture at the Kortrijk station that shows the graphic talent from the region. 15 companies, design agencies and educational institutions together created the K-TOTEM to promote Kortrijk even better as a creative city. Every quarter, the K-TOTEM gets a new cover designed by a regional graphic designer or illustrator. Kortrijk now exported a second totem to Kaunas where it will give visibility to the local designers and the program of the European Capital of Culture in the public space.
