Lithuanian Cultural Center in Belgium celebrated a closing evening of its first season

On May 28, Lithuanian Embassy to Belgium together with the Lithuanian community held a symbolic closing evening of the first season of Lithuanian Cultural Center in Belgium (LCCB).

Welcoming everyone ambassador Gediminas Varvuolis expressed his satisfaction that despite the never-ending everyday work, community has time for Lithuanian language and culture. Thanking for a nice partnership, meaningful work and initiatives ambassador wished the LCCB team to continue to flourish and grow along with the Lithuanian language and traditions.
Director of the Cultural Center Tautvydė Daujotytė Mukile invited all the guests to support the recent initiative - to enrich Center’s library - and to donate a book and a greeting.
In the background of an International Spring of Poetry event, the evening continued with poetry readings for children and song program "Spring, Love and Širvys” by choir studio "No Rain", celebrating its 5th birthday.

LCCB started its activities on November 2014. It is Belgium's largest Lithuanian community education and cultural project carried out in cooperation with the Lithuanian Embassy to Belgium and the Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the EU.
The center employs professional educators and artists. At the moment LCCB’s activities are chosen by more than 100 people, half of them - children. Centre gives Lithuanian language,  music, art, toy creation classes to children. Adults meet in the choir and folklore groups, take  children's education, art therapy classes. The Centre's activities focus not only on Lithuanians living in Belgium, but also foreigners living there, who are interested in learning more about Lithuanian language and culture.
