Lithuanians from Belgium, Luxembourg, Holland and Switzerland competed in Sports games in Brussels

18th-19th June at NATO’s Sports and Fitness Centre in Brussels more than 650 Lithuanian citizens from Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands participated in Sports Games"Benelux 2016.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius, the Permanent Representative of Lithuania to NATO Vytautas Leškevičius, Ambassador of Lithuania to Belgium Gediminas Varvuolis, Ambassador of Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the EU Jovita Neliupšienė, Ambassador of Lithuanian to the Netherlands Darius Semaška opened the 11th Games and congratulated the winners. The event was also attended by the EU Commissioner Vytenis Andriukaitis and General Manager of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Edis Urbanavičius.

Traditional basketball, soccer, tennis, table tennis, squash, volleyball, badminton, bowling, jogging, swimming, sailing, relay, chess, checkers and other games, orienteering competitions this year took place in two stages. "BeNeLux2016” Sports Games were organized by the Lithuanian Community in Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg, permanent representation of Lithuania to NATO, the Embassy of Lithuania to Belgium and Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the European Union.
