On 8 January 2014 Ambassador of Lithuania in the Kingdom of Belgium H. E. Mr. Gediminas Varvuolis met President of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives H.E. Mr. André Flahaut.

Developments of bilateral relations, inter-parliamentary cooperation and relevant European topics have been discussed during the meeting.  H.E. André Flahaut has congratulated Lithuania on the successful Presidency of the Council of the European Union. H.E. Ambassador G. Varvuolis thanked H.E. A. Flahaut, who was Belgian Minister of Defense in 2004, for the decision to be the first to send soldiers and aircrafts to NATO air policing mission in the Baltic States. The views on the developments in the EU-Eastern Partnership countries and the forthcoming European Parliament elections have expressed.
