The National Dictation was held for the seventh time this year. On 22 February 2014 over 30 Lithuanians living in Belgium and Luxembourg gathered in the Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the EU to write it. The dictation was also written by a Finnish teenager who had learned Lithuanian.  The dictation was broadcasted by the Lithuanian National Radio and online. Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT) news reporter Marijus Žiedas read the dictation. The text of the dictation this year was “Skrydis” by Giedra Radvilavaičiūtė.  

The National Dictation is organized together with steady project partners DELFI, LRT, AB Lietuvos paštas, The Ministry of Science and Education, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The State Commission of the Lithuanian Language. The patron of the project is President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė.

The text of the Dictation was published on 25 February at www.diktantas.lt, www.vlkk, and DELFI. Like before, the specialists of Lithuanian were not able to take part in the contest.
